Yesterday i had the opportunity to go surfing in the snow. Although it was only small, it was such a surreal experience staring at snow capped mountains whilst getting piped.. Ice cream headaches and numb hands were the order of the day as the water temps hit 5 degrees while outside was -3!
Iceland is an incredible country and I reckon everyone should experience the place at least oncein their lifetime..

THE LAND OF ICE
Hey peeps!
As the Euro trip continues, the temps have slowly been getting colder and colder, in the water and out!
Yesterday the outside temps hit -1 as the boys enjoyed a fun little session in front of snow capped mountains at a newly built breakwall… This break wall has some serious potential as the black sand sorts itself out into some groomed banks….
We are heading north tonight to colder regions, with the forecast being -10 and SNOW! We also had our first glimpse of the northern lights, which was amazing to say the least!
For those that are a little unsure of what the Northern Lights, or ‘Aurora Borealis’ is, Here’s a basic rundown………..
“The Northern Lights stem from when large numbers of electrically charged particles (electrons) at high speed stream in towards the Earth along its magnetic field and collide with the highest air particles. The air then lights up rather like what happens in a fluorescent light tube. The resulting colours reflect which gases we find up there, the most usual yellow-green colour coming from oxygen. Red colouring is also due to oxygen with a contribution from nitrogen. The violet we often see at the lower edge of the aurora is due to nitrogen, as is most blue colouring. The charged particles originate from the sun, and it is the “weather” conditions on the sun that decide whether or not we will see the aurora. Particles can stream out from the sun and some are captured by the Earth’s magnetic field and find their way into the polar regions. On the way, they travel out into the night side of the Earth and gain extra energy.’
There is a 5m swell forecast for up north, so hopefully we find some frozen gems!

Fellas,
Just finished off a pretty successful stint in Scotland… Who wouldve thought it would be full of amazing waves and potential setups.
After that we drove all night down to London, where we hung for a few days and have now found ourselves in Iceland, to try and find some frozen tubes and icelandic queens!
Here’s a little teaser of one wave we got pretty darn good… Like an icy blackrock!

PINTS PITS AND PUNTS
EVENING FOLK!
just making my first post from the Emerald Isle…. So far so good!
Swell raning from 4ft to 8ft has greeted us for the first days of my arrival, plenty of pipes to keep the boys happy… Once i can get some images I will upload them for your enjoyment. The next few weeks we are just going to be chasing swells between here and Scotland with plenty of activity on the maps over the next coming days.. Until then the boys are going to be enjoying a few pints of the good black oil, Guinness!
